Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information geoAscent llc (“geoAscent,” “I,” or “me”) collects when you visit geoascent.net, how it is used, and the choices you have. geoAscent llc is a single-member limited liability company registered in Colorado, USA.
Information you give me
When you send a message through the contact page, I receive your name, email address, and message by email. I use that information only to reply to you and to keep a record of our correspondence. I do not add you to any mailing list unless you ask me to.
Information collected automatically
- Analytics. With your permission, this site uses Google Analytics (through Google Site Kit) to understand how visitors use it, such as which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors are located, and what kind of device they use. Analytics cookies are only set after you choose Accept in the cookie notice. If you decline, Google may still receive basic, cookieless measurements that do not identify you.
- Server logs. My web host, Hostinger, records standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, to keep the site secure and running.
- Spam protection. Messages sent through the contact form may be checked by Akismet, a spam-filtering service run by Automattic.
- Embedded content. Some pages include embedded videos from YouTube. When you play an embedded video, YouTube may collect data and set cookies as described in Google’s own privacy policy.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. This site uses:
- Necessary cookies: one cookie (
ga_consent) that remembers your cookie choice for up to a year. - Analytics cookies (only with your consent): Google Analytics cookies such as
_gaand_ga_*, which last up to two years.
You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer, or by clearing cookies in your browser. This site does not use advertising cookies.
How information is shared
I do not sell or rent personal information. Information is shared only with the service providers named above, which process it on my behalf, or when required by law.
How long information is kept
Contact messages are kept for as long as needed to respond and maintain a record of our conversation. Google Analytics data is kept according to the retention period set in the Analytics account (up to 14 months).
Your choices and rights
You may ask to see, correct, or delete personal information I hold about you by writing to me through the contact page. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law; I will honor any valid request.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect information from them.

This site links to other geoAscent sites on geoascent.net subdomains, to my publication on Substack, and to other websites. Each has its own privacy practices.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
